Welcome to fifth episode of the Career Crowd Podcast where we have a truly exciting “Stand Out from the Crowd” interview with Rajesh Modha. Raj is from Tilton Conway - a financial planning firm. Raj is a certified financial coach, chartered financial planner and Independent Financial Adviser and has been running his firm for over 20 years.
The episode is focused on Understanding your Finances where Jon, Ian and Mital discuss what money means to us and how important our relationship with money is during our career. Financial matters are a reality of day-to-day life. But do we talk about it? Not if we can help it!
Yet, no matter how uncomfortable we may feel or how difficult it is to open the discussion, the more we talk openly, freely and vulnerably, the better equipped we are to handle anything and everything that comes our way.
We end the episode with a recurring segment that we like to call “Career Fear.” In this episode’s “Career Fear” segment, we focus on the fear of financial illiteracy and its affects on all ages and all socioeconomic levels. Also how the lack of it may lead to poor financial choices that can have negative consequences on the all-round well-being of an individual.
It can cause many people to become victims of predatory lending, subprime mortgages, or fraud and high interest rates, resulting in bad credit or bankruptcy. The lack of financial literacy can lead to large amounts of debt and poor financial decisions. How can we avoid these pitfalls through education and developing everyone's awareness.
And of course, we want to hear from you! Check out the really interesting resource links below. Drop us a line and tell us how you feel about the episode. We cannot wait to bring you more content, more guests, and more information to help you and your career to Stand Out from the Crowd!
